Assignment: Resume and Cover letter
Description: In this assignment, you are going to apply for an internship with a photographer. You will create a resume and write a cover letter explaining why you would be a good intern.
Standards:
STANDARD 9.0: Students will communicate effectively and comprehend oral and written communication.
9.2Demonstrate effective written communication in various business formats.
STANDARD 10.0: Students will demonstrate job-seeking and exhibit employability characteristics required for employability and job retention in the workplace.
10.2Develop a resume and self-promotion pieces.

Steps:
Create a resume
1. Open Text Edit. Text Edit is located in the Applications folder.
Go>Applications>Text Edit.
2. Create a Text Edit document.
File>New.
Under Format, be sure you select Wrap to Page, NOT Wrap to Window.
3. Type your resume information using to the following items:
Your Name.
Address.
Phone Number.
Email Address.
Job Objective or Career Goal. Your objective is to become an intern with or assistant to the photographer.
Education.
Employment History.
Clubs and Organizations.
Art and Design Skills.
Hobbies and Leisure Activities.
4. Proof and save your document as Your name_resume. You can run spell check by going to Edit>Spelling and Grammar>Show Spelling and Grammar.
Next, write a cover letter explaining why you should be hired as the photographer's intern.

If you know a photographer, you may use that photographer's name and address. You may also use Mr. Joe Burlingame, Hillwood High School, 400 Davidson Road, Nashville, TN, 37205.
Type your cover letter in Text Edit, run spell check, proof for grammar and punctuation, and save as Your Name_cover letter.
Your grade will be based on completion of all steps as well as correct grammar and punctuation.
