Questions to think about:

How do you select the Move Tool?

What can you do with the Move Tool?

Should you create a new layer each time you create a custom shape?

How do you create a new layer in the layers palette?

How do you move the custom shape on one layer so that it is behind or in front of the shape on another layer?

When you use the Custom Shape Tool, what icon should you have selected?

How do find the answers to these questions if you do not know them?

1. Use the paint bucket to color the background.

2. Make a new layer and place a custom shape on it. Use any color or shape.

3. Add a drop shadow. Go to Layer>Layer Style.

4. Type the words drop shadow and move them near the shape, so that the viewer would know that this represents drop shadow.

Use whatever colors, shapes, or layer styles you wish. Create a design or illustration using custom shapes. 

You should:

Have at least 7 layers with 7 different custom shapes and 7 different colors. 
Have a colored background. 
Be able to identify and use the Move Tool.
Have the Move Tool set to Auto-Select: Layer in the Photoshop options bar
Have the correct Custom Shape Tool icon selected in the Photoshop options bar
Be able to move the custom shape on one layer so that it is behind or in front of the shape on another layer.
Be able to resize a custom shape
