About the CD Cover

Create a CD cover for a musical artist or group, based on the client checklist and designer checklist worksheets we completed last week.

You can change the title and concept that you used in the checklist portion of this.

Feel free to make yourself the artist or part of the group.

You will need to take at least one digital photo for the cover.

We can shoot this in our studio using a white backdrop or we can shoot at a location around school. You could also take the photo away from school. You could also use photos that you already have but you must take at least one new photo for this assignments.

Steps:

Go online and find 4 examples of CD or album covers that you like. Sketch them and turn them in today for a grade.

Next, sketch an idea for your CD cover. Remember a CD cover is a square format.

In the other role, you are going to be the owner of a business (the client) and you want to hire a graphic designer to design your CD cover logo.

As a designer, here is what you need to do:

Make an appointment to meet your client and show your work.
Tell the client why you think you should be hired.
Come up with an idea for a CD cover to present to the client.

Tell the client when you will have the artwork prepared. Think about what you will need to do to plan and coordinate the production. Set a delivery date and then work backward to decide what you need to do.
