adc words in paper sketchbook
•Illustrate the meaning of the word with a drawing, or...........
write a sentence using the word.
•Your pages should look something like this.
•Try to get at least 4 words per page.
•Continue to divide up following pages, front and back, throughout your sketchbook.
Vocabulary that may be on the semester exam
Exam
Line: The path made by a moving point
Exam question:
Rule of thirds: The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts.
Emphasis: to make a part of the the artwork or photo stand out more than others. You can do this by large vs. small, light vs. dark, a bright color among dull, etc.
In another rectangle, show emphasis using light vs. dark. Write "emphasis" in the rectangle.
ADC words
Exam questions:
Shape: an art element described as two-dimensional and enclosing an area.
Geometric shapes: Circles, rectangles, squares, triangles and so on - have the clear edges one achieves when using tools to create them.
Organic shapes: Are shapes with a natural look and a flowing and curving appearance. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.
ADC word
Exam question
Compositing: combine (two or more images) to make a single picture, especially electronically.
"photographic compositing by computer"
ACT word
Ambient
Exam question:
Ambient light is the light that exists in a scene. Also referred to as “natural light” or “existing light,” ambient light can be the found light inside a home, a restaurant or concert hall, or a bright, sunny day, a deep foggy day, a city at night…in other words, any kind of pre-existing light. This is found light, not additional light that you, the photographer, might choose to add, such as flash. When photographing a scene that is lit with any kind of ambient light, you need to use a light meter to determine exposure.
