CD cover

In this assignment, you will create a music CD cover. You will take some or all of the photos and complete the cover using Photoshop. You can use some images from caedes.net.

standards & indicators:

STANDARD 2.0: Students will analyze and apply typography to the design of a visual image.
STANDARD 3.0: Students will analyze and demonstrate design principles and processes.
STANDARD 5.0: Students will demonstrate image acquisition skills related to preparing graphic images for incorporation into layout design.
5.1Employ the use of a digital camera to produce images.

objectives:
To design a CD cover according to specifications.
To use a digital camera to capture a photographic image
To load the digital photo onto a computer and place it in a Photoshop document.



steps:

1. Find at least 4 CD covers that you like. Sketch each one of them.


2. Complete the following on a separate sheet of paper:
Title of CD
Name of group or artist
Type of music

3. Draw 3 rough sketches of a layout for the CD

4. Take photos for the CD

5. Load these photos onto your computer, placing them in your folder.

6. Create the CD cover in Photoshop.

specifications:

Your CD artwork must contain:
1. At least one photograph that you have taken (You may use other copyright free images)
2. Title of CD
3. Name of artist or group
4. At least one type layer that has a drop shadow, bevel & emboss, and warped type.
5. A blending mode on at least one layer

You definitely should have a center of interest and should show good use of both positive and negative space.
