Description of assignment:

Operation Grateful Nation is a community wide program taking place
in 19 cities across the country. Students (grades 8-12) in each city
along with military families, have the opportunity to create an 8.5”x11”
artwork and attach a message thanking members of the military for
their service and sacrifice. Thousands of artworks will be collected from
coast to coast to create a giant 5’x9’ mosaic mural that will be installed
in a prominent public location. In addition, each city will receive their
own 4’x6’ edition of the mosaic mural that members of their community
helped to create.

As part of this program, participants will be able to access the mosaic
mural online in the Project S.N.A.P. Online Art Museum, read and share
their artist’s statement and see how their artwork fits into the “big
